There is an undergoing theme within the story that I feel relates to us all, Michael's journey is a physical one, but primarily a psychological one - that takes place within 24 hours (from the readers perspective) but Michael has been on this journey since the Summer of 2011, which was a year and four months before.
Time is a key factor, I feel sometimes life can change that rapidly, our thoughts change, the challenges we face, things that influence us and the choices we make. A single day can have a great effect on us for better or for worse.
Michael Morris is a twenty-nine-year-old man who was living a very fortunate life with a loving family around him.
He still has a loving family around him, but a tragic event that he had no control over - and wasn't prepared for - changed him and his thinking.
Haunted by what happened during the Summer of 2011, a deep fear constantly terrifies his mind, and because of it he faces the risk of losing his family and his high school sweetheart - his wife, Alice.
